MicroVest is an asset management firm dedicated to applying a commercial framework to investing in unbanked and under-served markets. We focus on a sustainable investment process that provides private capital to low-income financial institutions. These institutions then extend productive loans to micro, small and medium businesses. We believe a commercial approach offers the most effective, scalable and sustainable solution for generating meaningful financial and social returns to our investors.
MicroVest was founded in 2003 with the goal of building a financially sound asset management company, one that could demonstrate that investing in the aspiring middle class and their enterprises delivers good risk-adjusted returns. As of September 2016, our assets under management, including joint venture and advisory contracts, totaled at $411 million, invested in a diversified portfolio of companies in countries around the globe.
MicroVest is a private, for-profit investment adviser. We are owned by three nonprofit institutions and key team members. Our nonprofit owners, CARE, MEDA, and the Cordes Foundation, bring more than 50 years of combined experience in international small business development and investing.
MicroVest Capital Management, LLC is a registered investment adviser with the SEC (ADV Part 2 available upon request). Registration with the SEC does not imply a certain level of skill or training.
